On behalf of the faculty and staff at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), it is our great pleasure to announce the FY2018 International Technologies for Information Operations (TIO) Short Course which will be held aboard the NPS campus in the beautiful and historic city of Monterey, California. Course dates are:
23 October 2017 – 9 November 2017.
TIO is sponsored and hosted by the NPS Center for Joint Services Electronic Warfare and the Graduate School of International Studies. The TIO course is an excellent opportunity for exchanging information and technology between countries in a relaxing and stimulating environment.
TIO is practical education for tomorrow’s technology warfighters. This year's program is significant in that it marks the 21st year that the TIO Short Course has been conducted and reflects the most exciting technology program of all. Topic areas for this year's TIO include maritime security, hybrid warfare, littoral operations and modern littoral sensor technology. Daily sessions will be conducted by NPS faculty who are subject matter experts in their topic areas. Throughout the duration of the course, students will be guided through a project to apply the course material to a topical problem set and will present their recommendations on the final morning. Several lab tours and a site visit have also been coordinated to enhance the course curriculum. A Graduation Ceremony and Luncheon on Thursday, 9 November will close the program.
The International TIO short course presents the latest developments in battlespace technologies supporting the current revolution in military affairs. This exchange of electronics technology and defense relevant education with the international community allows us all to share the ability to maintain the ultimate readiness in coalition warfighting. We sincerely hope you will enroll and visit us in Monterey, and that you will remember both the technical and social aspects of this course as a worthwhile experience.
