Office of Naval Research’s Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP) provides an opportunity for students to participate in research at a Department of Navy (DoN) laboratory during the summer.
The goals of SEAP are to encourage participating students to pursue science and engineering careers, to further their education via mentoring by laboratory personnel and their participation in research, and to make them aware of DoN research and technology efforts, which can lead to employment within the DoN.
SEAP provided competitive research internships to over 265 high school students in 2018. Participating students spent eight weeks during the summer doing research at 25 DoN laboratories.
The Naval Postgraduate School will host hosted 33 high school students during the summer of 2019.
For more information, including deadlines and application details for summer 2020, visit http://seap.asee.org.
Minors must be from 50 miles of the city of Monterey; must reside with parent or legal guardian during internship. The home address on the application will be used to determine eligibility.
