Minimum MSSE/MSES Degree Requirements: 36 credit hours of graduate level course, with at least 16 at the 4000 level. Completion of the Systems Engineering core course sequence and completion of a 12 hour equivalent team capstone project.
This program assumes a well prepared, capable student as input (i.e. undergraduate degree in Engineering or other technical field). There is little flexibility to establish ABET accredited undergraduate engineering degree equivalency, so students without an ABET accredited undergraduate engineering degree would receive the MS in Engineering Systems (MSES) degree. Students who possess an ABET accredited undergraduate engineering degree would receive the ABET accredited MS in Systems Engineering (DL) degree.
Focused SE Electives can include: SE3910, SE4003, SE4353, SE4354, SE4930, SE4950, OS3401, OS4680. It must be a different course from those included in the specialization track.
The four Specialization Track courses would depend on the specific sponsor’s desires given a homogeneous cohort (e.g. one entirely funded by SPAWAR, NAVAIR, NAVSEA, etc.). For Open Enrollment cohorts, the four course tracks would be specified prior to the acceptance of applications for enrollment.
