Register A New Radiofrequency Device

Radiofrequency Principal Investigators (RPIs) wishing to obtain and use a new Radiofrequency (RF) source need to contact the Research Compliance Office. This process is started by completing the RF Source Registration Form. Once completed the Research Compliance Office will be automatically notified of your registration information and will assist you with conducting hazard analysis, and completing the other prerequisites necessary to finalize the registration of your RF Source for use.

Note that you will need as much of the following information as you can obtain for the RF Source being registered in order to complete the registration form:

  • RF Source Manufacturer, Make or Model, and Serial Number
  • Operating Frequency e.g. 2.4 GHz
  • Peak Power which the RF Source can produce at the input to the radiating device (usually the antenna) e.g. 35W
  • Average Power which the RF Source produces at the input to the radiating device (usually the antenna) in its normal operating mode e.g. 35W
  • Intended primary use location the RF Source e.g. Watkins 217
