LAURA ARMEY, Assistant Professor, received a B.A. in Anthropology (2004), a B.A. and M.A. in Economics (2004) and a Ph.D. in Political Economy and Public Policy (2008) from the University of Southern California. Dr. Armey previously worked as an analyst at the Cost Analysis and Program Evaluation division of the Office of the Secretary Defense, where she provided economic analysis for defense policy making. One area of her research focuses on the political and economic factors that affect post-war reconstruction and other outcomes of conflicts. An additional area of her research focuses on the impact of combat exposure on the economic outcomes of service members. In addition, she has worked on analysis of telecommunications markets and the impact of communication technology in developing countries both at DRMI and as a Post-Doctoral research fellow for the Institute for Communications Technology at the University of Southern California. Dr. Armey joined the DRMI faculty in August of 2010.
