CSD Monterey is a full-scale Navy personnel and customer service detachment that provides an array of services such as pay, travel and personnel to active duty, reservists, family members and faculty/staff members assigned to NSA Monterey and its tenant commands.

* On Wednesdays, CSD Monterey is SECURED for training from 1500 - 1600 with the exception of our ID office. CSD Monterey ID office is open Monday through Friday from 0730 to 1600.
Upon arrival, all Sailors should ensure their orders are endorsed to include date and time of arrival at receiving command. If arrival is before and after working hours, Sailors will need to contact the command/installation OOD for orders endorsement. Command Pay and Personnel Administrators (CPPAs) will coordinate the check-in process with CSD Monterey. Sailors will need to procure government lodging at NGIS or Navy Lodge prior to securing reservations/checking-in commercial lodging. Certificate of Non-Availability (CNA) will be required by CSD Monterey to process lodging costs incurred as part of official travel.
Travel claims are our customers’ number one concern. It is the service member’s responsibility to ensure a travel claim with all documentation is submitted on time, correct and with all documentation. Each command has a CPPA who is required to review all documentation for completeness and accuracy and then submit them electronically to CSD Monterey via TOPS (Transaction Online Processing System). There is a great tool that can help you prepare your travel claim. It’s called the “Smart Voucher”. Smart Voucher allows you to populate your travel claim as you travel via PCS orders, filling it out as you go. When you get to your final duty station all you have to do is print out your travel claim, sign it and give the claim and all your receipts to your CPPA, he/she will review the claim, complete the travel claim checklist and send to PSD.
