Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) outreach events are a great way to help K-12 students become interested in these fields. CRUSER sponsors STEM outreach events as well as participates in larger NPS or other community STEM outreach events.

Internships

CRUSER participates in an internship program for High School and College students to work on projects in the Advanced Robotic Systems ENgineering Laboratory (ARSENL). Internship positions are available on a volunteer & paid basis.

Currently paid positions are available through the Navy Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP) for college students & the Science & Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP) for high school students. Please consult the websites for additional details and deadlines.

  • Design, Build, and Test an underwater robot in Marine Advanced Technology Education's (MATE) pool
  • Several Unmanned Systems were on display for students to look at and discuss with researchers
  • Three local high schools brought their FIRST Robotics competition robots

Activity: The cub scouts used Lego Mindstorm robots which were pre-built, but needed to be programmed to complete a series of challenges
