Cyber Security Fundamentals Certificate for Naval Officers
The Naval Postgraduate School will offer the Cyber Security Fundamentals certificate (Curriculum 256) to non-resident U.S. Naval officers starting on 3 July 2017. Classes will be taught asynchronously. Each certificate offering will take approximately 9 months to complete with one course per quarter.
The Cyber Security Fundamentals certificate (Curriculum 256) is a graduate-level, non-degree program designed to enable U.S. Naval officers and others to gain a foundational understanding of the basic concepts and methods of computer network defense, vulnerabilities, and exploitations, with the objective of enabling informed choices that will result in better network defense. It consists of three courses:
all of which may be applicable toward a Master's degree in Computer Science (Curriculum 368).
- Baccalaureate degree
- Basic understanding of computers and networking
- Command endorsement
For this program, prospective students must obtain special application instructions from firstname.lastname@example.org. The NPS Admissions Office will not process your application without these special instructions.
Applications must be completed by 3 April 2017 to be considered for admissions in summer 2017.
